Hill Hiker, Inc. Manufacturing Facility, Fabrication Shop and Assembly Plant in Annandale, MN

Although you can find Hill Hiker’s inclined elevators all over the world–three continents, nine countries and 32 US States and territories–they all come from our factory in Midwestern America. For 20 years, we’ve committed to building quality, American-made products users throughout the world can trust. Here’s a quick look at how we do it.

Since Hill Hiker® started out as an inclined elevator manufacturer, we’ve based our operations in Minnesota. In fact, our first lift was for a residence on Lake Minnetonka, the same lake where the famous musician Prince once resided. Currently Hill Hiker® has two facilities: an office in Orono, MN and a manufacturing facility in Annandale, MN. Both are communities west of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The manufacturing facility in Annandale employs six people: a shop manager, an office assistant, two welders/fabricators, a shop helper and a machinist.

Quality Materials

When engineering our systems, we carefully considered a number of suppliers and chose established brands, many American made. We’ve used these components to build top-of-the-line inclined elevator lifts. Here are just a few of our American-made components.

Leeson

Leeson motors and brakes offer quality, reliability and energy efficiency. Their motors and brakes have a  great track record throughout the years we’ve used them, and as an added benefit, they’re headquartered in the neighboring state of Wisconsin.

Grove Gear

They started in a Union Grove Wisconsin chicken coop. Now they operate an 110,000 square foot facility in the same city. Their production staff is well-trained and experienced, averaging 14 years of service apiece. These are just some of the aspects that have led us to their gearboxes.

Allen Bradley

Limit switches prevent the cart from traveling too far on the track, which could lead to safety concerns if they ever failed. This is why we use the best limit switches and locks available for our outdoor elevator lifts. For over a century, Allen Bradley has been producing quality electrical products. That’s why we get the finest limit switches, which only come from the Allen Bradley company based in Wisconsin.

Eaton Electrical Components

When it comes to limit switches, breakers, relays, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, terminal and wiring parts and more, we choose Eaton electric. Not only does Eaton have a long and established history of manufacturing quality products  in the U.S., their operational headquarters are still located in Ohio.

Additional American-Made Components

Local galvanizers and painters finish much of our steel parts and components, while all of the metalwork and fabrication is done in our shop. We also machine and turn out most of our drums by hand in our shop.

Our American-made roots are just one of the things that set us apart from other inclined elevator manufacturers. We also offer unparalleled quality. After all, a Hill Hiker® spends all of its time outdoors and in the elements. That’s why it’s so important you have an inclined elevator built to last. Each of our inclined lifts not only provide seamless passage up and downhill, but they withstand the pressures of time.  Contact us to learn more about our inclined elevators.
