Hill Hiker, Inc. Continues to Make Worldwide Impressions

By August 1, 2023April 2nd, 2024Blog

Hill Hiker, Inc. has earned numerous recognitions over its 26 years in business, contributing to its illustrious reputation for crafting some of the most unique, odds-defying, and trustworthy inclined elevator systems across the world. In the most recent years, Hill Hiker, Inc. has accumulated a number of impressive nods from industry leaders and its team has grown increasingly excited about being featured in so many places. Here are some of the sources that the team at Hill Hiker, Inc. has been honored to receive recognition from recently.

Making the Homes & Land Magazine Cover

Homes & Land Magazine featured  Hill Hiker, Inc.’s work on a customer’s mind-boggling spectacle of a home that is for sale on its cover of the “Lake Tahoe North and Truckee” edition. The cover featured a stunning photo of the massive Crystal Bay, Nevada home and the Hill Hiker, Inc. elevator that lines the backyard, traveling from one of the many back patios, down a steep hill to the dock that features a gazebo perched upon sparkling Lake Tahoe.

This project was a feat for Hill Hiker for a number of reasons:

  1. It involved extra heavy-duty construction to withstand seismic loads.
  2. The elevator includes multiple stops.
  3. The job has an angle change with an electrical self-leveling car.
  4. The job went through a full state elevator inspection with State of Nevada.
  5. It is difficult to get permits to do work on Lake Tahoe, so getting that approval was a big accomplishment.
  6. There is a walking path under the track for the neighbors to access the lake.

The finished project was an accomplishment itself for our Hill Hiker team, but being featured on the Homes & Land Magazine cover was the true icing on the cake of that heavy-duty project.

Country & Town House Magazine

Country & Town House Magazine in the UK featured Hill Hiker, Inc. in a unique article about treehouses called “Trees of Life”. Leading UK landscape architect, Randle Siddeley, wanted to add theatrical fun and adventure to one of his treehouses, so he reached out to US-based Hill Hiker, Inc. to make it happen.

The article mentions how Hill Hiker’s funiculars are often used in the US to help clients transport back home easily after stepping off their boats. It credits its elevators as the smartest way for anyone to reach their tree house.

The Expo 2020 in Dubai was a giant world fair that brought in over 24 million visitors from 178 countries. Top contractors from many countries helped build sprawling pavilions that gave visitors immersive and interactive experiences. The event hosted 51 gold, silver, and bronze awards divided into three categories that recognize three aspects of the pavilions: architecture and landscape, exhibition design, and theme interpretation. Hill Hiker installed and manufactured two inclined lifts in the Saudi pavilion, which won a number of architectural awards including a Gold Award in the Self-built pavilions larger than 2,500m2 category.
