US State Permitting & Licensing Requirements
(Residential Inclined Elevators)
- Scope: This list applies strictly to Residential Inclined Elevators (regulated in North America by ASME A17.1 Section 5.4). For commercial installations, assume state permitting and licensing are strictly required.
- Local Jurisdiction & Additional Permits: This table covers elevator-specific state regulations. Standard building, electrical, zoning, county, city, or HOA permits may still be required. State exemptions do not override local municipal laws.
- Liability: Regulations are subject to change. This data is provided to the best of Hill Hiker, Inc.'s knowledge at the time of publishing and is not legally binding. Always verify current requirements with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
